Fees and Notice Requirements

Fees and Notice Requirements - Traditional Care Program

Administration Fee

The $30 administrative fee is a onetime fee applied to all registrations.  It is non refundable.

Refundable Registration Fee

Your refundable registration fee secures your child care space against last minute cancellation or failure to pay fees as scheduled.  When you submit this payment we secure the space for you and do not offer it to any other families.  This allows you to know your space is available when you need it.

If your circumstances change prior to your start date and you no longer need the child care spot you have registered for, you would forfeit your refundable registration fee.

If you circumstances change and you need to withdraw after your scheduled start date, and you provide the appropriate notice, your refundable registration fee will be applied towards your fees for the notice period.

Child Care Fees

When you complete your registration you will be issued a fee schedule.  This outlines the dates and amounts of payments due as well as which time period is covered by each payment.  If your care changes (age group, schedule etc) you will be issued an updated fee schedule.

Payment is due by post-dated cheque made payable to Little Learning House

Cheques are due quarterly in September, December, March and June.  Please make sure you have enough cheques prior to the due date.  You are welcome to submit cheques in advance of the due date if you wish.

Every reasonable attempt is made to deposit cheques as scheduled, however it remains your responsibility to ensure that the appropriate funds remain available until the cheque clears.

Cheques returned by the bank are subject to a $25 NSF charge.

Notice of Withdrawal – Traditional Care Program

You must provide one month written notice of your intent to withdraw your child from care.  When your notice is received by the centre supervisor she will adjust your fee schedule, apply your refundable registration fee and return any post-dated cheques we might no longer need.

Please note that our notice requirements may not align with the Child Care Subsidy Office’s notice requirements and that by registering your child in our program you are agreeing to provide one month written notice.

Fees and Notice Requirements - Flexible Care Program

Administration Fee

The $30 administrative fee is a onetime fee applied to all registrations.  It is non refundable.

Refundable Registration Fee

Your refundable registration fee secures your child care bookings against last minute cancellation or failure to pay fees as scheduled.  When you submit this payment it allows you to book care up to six months in advance of the current month.  Your RRF will be applied to any overdue fees (due to sick days, cancellation without notice, late payment etc).  If you do not maintain your RRF balance at $200 you will not be able to book any more days and any days you do have booked may be cancelled.

Child Care Fees

Payment for FCP care is due in cash on the first day of care each week.

It remains your responsibility to calculate the amount due for the days you have booked and to bring the appropriate amount.  We are unable to provide change.  Any over payment is applied to future care.

There is a fee payment mailbox inside the entryway of the preschool classroom.  Please complete the envelop with the relevant information and deposit your payment in the mail box.

Staff will not accept any payments.

If you wish to make a lump sum payment in excess of $500 please see the centre supervisor.

Cancellation of Care

Variable Schedule Care – you can cancel your care without penalty with a minimum of one months notice.  Please note consistent booking and then cancelling of care will result in limited booking availability or termination of care.

Back-Up Care/Emergency Care – once confirmed back up care may not be cancelled.  Full fees are due for any care booked less than 1 month in advance of the care date.  This includes situations where your child may be too ill to attend the child care centre.
